Mysore offers a plethora of traditional and cultural insightful places to visit. See how you can spend some quality hours in the glittering royal heritage of South India!


1. Mysore Palace- Admire the Grandeur

Mysore Palace gives you a royal yet historical experience with its exceptional architecture and interior decor. Originally known as Puragiri now also known as the Amba Vilas Palace gives you an enriching holiday time. The palace also offers a diverse set of artworks and sculptures from all over the world. Its beauty is worth the go and its royalty will attract you more!


Entry fees: INR 10 for students, INR 30 for kids, INR 50 for Indians and Foreigners

Timings : 10:00am-5:30pm every day, 7:00pm-7:45pm for light and sound show from Monday to Saturday

2. Chamundeshwari Temple

Located at the top of Chamundi Hills, Chamundeshwari Temple is one of the most prominent temples of Mysore. Located at 13km from the city of Mysore, the temple stands out in terms of its great devotion to the fierce form of Shakti, goddess Durga is adorned and worshipped every day. It'll leave in awe of its beauty.

Timings: 7:30am-9:00pm everyday

3. Government Silk Weaving Factory - Shop Silk Saris

The silk weaving factory is the place for the shopping freaks. You'll find the most authentic silk sarees at this place that too at moderate prices. Taking home some traditional souvenirs for you loved ladies would be a good idea as it offers a lot of stores that you can visit!

Timings : 7:30am-12:00pm and 12:30pm - 4:30pm

4. St. Philomena's Cathedral

Built-in 1956, St. Philomena Cathedral is one of the oldest churches in India hence an attraction for all the tourists. Its captivating beauty and majestic architecture attract everyone to visit this place. The Catholic Church inspired from Germany's Cologne Cathedral, this church was built in a neo-Gothic style. You surely don't wanna miss visiting this place when in Mysore!


Timings: 5:00am-6:00pm everyday

5. Brindavan Gardens

Brindavan Garden is the perfect place to spend your evenings! Famous for its symmetric design and laid out terrace gardens in the world, it's a must-visit to spend some relaxing time with your loved ones in the arms of nature. The musical fountain might turn out to be one of your favourites at this place.

Timings: 6:30am-9:00pm everyday

6. Jaganmohan Palace

The city of palaces has got so much in store. This palace exemplifies old school architecture just as it was. You can find the furniture used by the Royal Families that'll give you an enriching historical experience. The marvellous interior is gonna take your breath away!


Entry Fees: INR 20 for adults and INR 10 for kids

Timings: 10:00am-5:30pm

7. Folklore Museum

Folklore museum will let you see the utensils used in the past, handmade items like the baskets and sculptures etc. You'll be surprised that this museum is a part of the Mysore University and let you experience the best of folk art.

Timings: 10:30am-5: 30 pm every day except Sunday
